We’ve got another fun-filled holiday programme coming up focusing on everything from learning how to keep fit in a fun way, what games your parents and grandparents used to play, special skills we can learn from our staff, human board games, special guests from MakerSpace to learn animation, and some eggcellent activities for Easter.  We’ll also be getting out and exploring at Staglands and local parks, going roller skating, a trip to the coolest little zoo in the world, to our famous Embassy Theatre day and this time we’re going to watch SpongeBob so the costume contest is under water themed.  We’re especially excited for our end of holiday programme grand finale as this time we have a brand new event – culture day!  There’ll be loads of stalls from all over the world so we can learn all about different cultures, from music to food to crafts!  We look forward to seeing you there!

About Us

The YMCA offers children and young people fun and educational activities to keep them happy and active during every school holiday of the year. We run programmes in Upper & Lower Hutt, the Wairarapa, Porirua, Wellington City and Holiday Camps at Camp Kaitoke.

The YMCA is a values based organisation. Our values are Honesty, Responsibility, Respect and Caring. These values drive our programme content, how we manage behaviour, our commitment to sustainability, and the way we interact with participants, their whanau, our volunteers and staff.

Each holiday day programme and camp offers a varied and interesting variety of activities ranging from trips, art and craft to sports and games.

There are a variety of ways to book on to the programmes; the fastest way is to book online and pay with your credit card. You can download the brochures below to view the programme details, and there are also links to registration forms which can be emailed, faxed or posted back to us

Our Promise to Parents

We have Government Approval to run OSCAR programmes, this means two things for you and your children:

1. We have been audited by an external body to ensure that our staffs are all appropriately qualified, trained and supervised. Our programmes are managed well to minimise unnecessary risk and the content and quality of the programmes is appropriate for the age and development of the children/youth involved.

2. You are able to access a subsidy towards the fees from Work and Income NZ (if you are eligible under the ‘Working for Families’ Scheme). Click here for more info
