KIA KAHA AKE – GIVE IT A GO!
The Porirua Junior Sport Leagues are a great community service offered by the YMCA for young people in the Porirua area. These leagues offer numerous benefits including keeping fit, improving coordination, building teamwork and developing a healthy competitive spirit.
At YMCA we offer a variety of sports that your kids schools can be involved in. These include basketball, netball, indoor soccer, flag football and lots more. Our junior leagues are based at Te Rauparaha Arena which means we can offer various leagues throughout the year.
Our indoor sports leagues are very popular. With over 10,000 total participants each year over the past three years we are on track to keeping tomorrows sports stars fit and active. These leagues offer the perfect opportunity to challenge your kids and students, and keep up their fitness in a fun and social environment.
To the right you can download the 2017 Registration form and 2017 Sports Leagues Handbook for teachers and parents. The booklet outlines details of the sports running this year with costs, rules and deadlines. Please note these are subject to change.
You will note as you read through this handbook that we have endeavored to give you the full years programme up front with costs, dates and other important information. Spaces are limited in terms of team numbers across all sports. We would like to see as many schools participating as possible, however, a degree of first come first served will need to apply.
We look forward to another successful year of junior sport in Porirua.
