Grant is an Independent Consultant specialising in governance, sustainability and review processes. Grant spent 25 years at senior executive level in the Public Service with his last role being as Deputy Director-General with the Department of Conservation.
As well as being involved with YMCA Wellington, Grant is the Chair of the Porirua Harbour and Catchment Community Trust, and trustee with Sport Wellington Region. He is a member of the Institute of Professional Engineers NZ and the Institute of Directors and a Life Member of the North City Cricket Club.

Kathy has a varied background which includes human resources and corporate leadership and has had involvement in early childhood education and the not for profit sector. Her particular interest and passion is equipping people for success in their education, their jobs and in their lives.
Kathy currently is a self-employed career consultant and has a qualification in career development. As a board member for Greater Wellington YMCA she aims to contribute to helping young people make their way in the world.
Kathy has lived in Wellington for 30 years and has two adult children.
Coral has diverse experience working within the public, private and not for profit sectors. Currently Coral is a Senior Consultant with Hunter Group, a small consultancy based in Wellington, and is working mostly on change management projects relating to system and strategy changes. Past roles have included work in financial services, communications, marketing, strategy and organisational development. Coral had 7 years on the Board of the Youth Hostel Association (YHA) in New Zealand, including 4 years as Chair. This experience is complemented Institute of Directors and other study, culminating in achievement of IOD Chartered Member status in 2013.
Coral lives in Wellington, and joined the YMCA Greater Wellington Board in December 2015.
Oliver is a Business Advisor with the Ministry of Social Developement (MSD), working in the Deputy Chief Executive’s office. His responsibilities include communications, strategy, and business processes.
Prior to joining MSD, Oliver spent five years as a strategic communications consultant. Some of the highlights of his work include a community engagement project for a government agency, helping private-sector organisations navigate the political landscape, and contributing to a nation-wide campaign.
In 2015, Oliver spent one year in Taiwan (R.O.C.) on a Prime Minister’s Scholarship, to learn Mandarin Chinese – though he admits it’s a bit rusty. Oliver has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Victoria University, and is currently working towards a Masters in Strategic Studies.
Eileen brings a diverse range of experience from working in both the public and private sector organisations. Currently Eileen is working for the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment in the branch that oversees of Governance for Crown Entities, the collection of data and provision of research and evaluation to provide evidence on which to base policy decisions.
Eileen is a born and breed Wellingtonian with two adult children, throughout her career she has taken an active role in helping to develop young people’s skills and experiences, be that in the work place or as a mentor within high schools.
