We passionately believe that every man, woman and child in New Zealand deserves the opportunity to develop to their full physical, mental and spiritual potential and enjoy a healthy quality of life.

Unfortunately, not everyone is able to achieve this for a variety of reasons like financial limitations, family circumstances, disability or environmental challenge
.
To address this situation, the YMCA supports young people, families and communities to participate in various opportunities to to help them grow in body, mind and spirit, and enjoy the long term lasting benefits associated.
.
Please join us and help others enjoy the Y experience

Donating

The YMCA is a non profit community organisation and a registered charity.

While we must generate some of our own funding in order to provide our services, we rely on and are always greatly appreciative of any donations.  These donations allow us to provide opportunities for people (mostly for young people) who otherwise might miss out. If you are considering making a donation (which is tax-free) feel free to call CEO Simon Jackson on 04 5683252 ext 710 or send him an email on simonjackson@ymca.org.nz.

We would welcome the opportunity to talk with you.If you know that donating to the Y is something for you, you can choose to Donate Nowand follow the prompts.

Bequests

Making a bequest to YMCA Greater Wellington in your will is a lasting way of showing your support and appreciation for the YMCA’s services and programmes in helping to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

Talk with your solicitor or trustee company before proceeding, but the following general information is provided for your interest and consideration.

A Bequest gift can be:

- A percentage of your estate
- The residue (balance) of your estate after other specific bequests have been fulfilled
- A percentage of the residue
- The total estate after testamentary expenses for the funeral, fees etc. have been paid
- A specified sum of money
- Property, eg houses or land; stocks and shares; cars; furniture; jewellery; insurance policy

Amending your existing Will with a Codicil:

If you already have a Will, you can make a simple addition called a Codicil to benefit a charity such as YMCA Greater Wellington.

Decide what sort of Bequest gift you would like to make (percentage, fixed amount or an asset), download and complete the attached Codicil form, have the form signed by two witnesses (neither of whom are beneficiaries in your Will), and give the form to your solicitor who will then add the Codicil to your Will.

While death, and the things that often occur when death happens, can be a difficult subject for many people to talk about, the reality is that all of us will at some point come to the end of our mortal lives. Most of us are encouraged to write and update our will so that those who are left behind are very clear about what we wish to happen to our estate. We at the YMCA would be honored if you would consider us when you next update your will by making provision for a bequest. It is not the happiest subject to talk about, but if you do want to help us to continue growing great New Zealanders, please talk to your lawyer or give us a call on 04-568 3252.  Or you can send us an email our CEO Simon Jackson at simonjackson@ymca.org.nzand he will call you at a time that is convenient to you.
