Youth Programmes Coordinator (Masterton)

YMCA Greater Wellington operates our centre in Masterton and is currently going through a period of rejuvenation. We require a Youth Programmes Coordiantor to support our Centre Manager in delivery of our various Youth Programmes. This is a 0.5 FTE role.

Child Care (OSCAR) Summer Positions

YMCA Greater Wellington operates 10 OSCAR Centers across the Wellington Region. We have holiday programme positions available for this summer with potential for positions to open up next year during the terms.

  • Share your own skills and creativity to contribute to exciting activities and programmes

The vacancies we currently have available are:

  • Leaders at our centres in Wellington city and Titahi Bay.
  • Between 7am and 6pm Monday-Friday on a rostered basis – Hours per week dependent on the roster.
  • Ideal for people with some childcare experience and energy for working in a busy environment

OSCAR positions in New Upper Hutt Centre

Next year we will be opening up another Before and After School Care Centre in Upper Hutt and we are looking for great leaders to join our team.

  • After School Care: Approximately 6-12 hours per week, between 3pm and 6pm Monday-Friday on a rostered basis
  • Before School Care: Approximately 3-7 hours per week between 7am and 8:30am Monday-Friday on a rostered basis
  • Ideal for people with some childcare experience and energy for working in a busy environment
  • Start date in January

OSCAR Senior Leader Position – Khandallah Area

YMCA OSCAR centers are a positive and exciting place to work. Our programmes are recreation based and aim to meet the needs of primary school aged children in a fun, safe, learning environment.

Senior Leaders are critical to the smooth running of our centers and the programmes and they work closely with the Center Manager. These positions are an opportunity to:

  • Use and develop your leadership skills
  • Contribute to the management of the Center
  • Work with primary aged children in a positive, busy environment

The position we have available is for our Khandallah area. These positions are for 17.5 hours per week (2.30-6pm, Monday to Friday) during term time and there may also be the opportunity for Holiday Programme work.

Those most likely to succeed as Senior Leaders will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in a ‘duty manager’ position or similar position of responsibility
  • Strong planning and organising skills
  • Experience in working with primary school age children (ideally in an educational setting)

A positive ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to contribute your enthusiasm and ideas are also highly valued.
