Marketing and Communications Coordinator

YMCA Greater Wellington is a well-established, diverse organization. We are currently looking for a new Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join our team.

The Marketing and Communication position exists to ensure that all YMCA GW marketing communications and publicity information and channels reflect the brand and goals of the YMCA, and to develop and implement a process that ensures high quality public relations outcomes for the organization.

Our ideal candidate must have:

  • A suitable tertiary qualification
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with modern technologies and marketing channels (e.g. social media)
  • Strong copy writing skills across a range of media and for a range of audiences and styles

This is a part time position of 20 hours per week worked Monday to Thursday.

OSCAR Senior Leader Position – Crofton Downs

YMCA OSCAR centers are a positive and exciting place to work. Our programmes are recreation based and aim to meet the needs of primary school aged children in a fun, safe, learning environment.

Senior Leaders are critical to the smooth running of our centers and the programmes and they work closely with the Center Manager. These positions are an opportunity to:
> Use and develop your leadership skills
> Contribute to the management of the Center
> Work with primary aged children in a positive, busy environment

The position we have available is at our After School Care Centre based at Crofton Downs School.

This position is for 17.5 hours per week (2.30-6pm, Monday to Friday) during term time and there may also be the opportunity for Holiday Programme work.

Those most likely to succeed as Senior Leaders will have the following skills and experience:
> Experience in a ‘duty manager’ position or similar position of responsibility
> Strong planning and organising skills
> Experience in working with primary school age children (ideally in an educational setting)

A positive ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to contribute your enthusiasm and ideas are also highly valued.

By joining the YMCA team you will receive training and support in your role and may be eligible for free after school care for your child.

Leader positions at Raroa After School Care Centre

YMCA Greater Wellington provides high quality before school care and after school care to primary aged children at 10 OSCAR Centers across the Wellington Region.

The vacancies we currently have available are at our Raroa Intermediate After School Care Centre

  • Approximately 6-12 hours per week, between 3pm and 6pm Monday-Friday on a rostered basis
  • Holiday programme work may be available
  • Ideal for people with some childcare experience and energy for working in a busy environment
